Terms of Use of the Taksi Rovaniemi Application

By activating this function and registering personal data in the application, such as your phone number and/or email address, you agree to the following terms.

1. Terms of Use and Payment of the Taksi Rovaniemi Application

The service is provided to you free of charge for personal use, and through the service you can order a taxi in the Rovaniemi area (and possibly in other areas of our partners), track the taxi’s progress on a map, and pay for your taxi ride. To access all features, you must first register your details and payment card in the service. By ordering a taxi via the Taksi Rovaniemi application, you ensure that you receive a licensed taxi that is safe and of high quality. The taxi is equipped with a sealed taximeter and uses pricing in accordance with the Taksi Rovaniemi Oy tariff. The driver of a licensed taxi always holds a professional driving permit issued by the police authority. The Taksi Rovaniemi application is provided by Taksi Rovaniemi Oy. The application is technically delivered by Taksi Helsinki Oy, which also acts as the data controller.

You understand that by using the application, you accept that orders are made based on the address you provide, and you are not entitled to compensation if the order has been placed with an incorrect address. You understand and accept that GPS and mobile network-based location data may not always provide a fully accurate address, and you agree that you must verify the address suggested by the application for each order.
Payment card details registered in the service are stored solely in the system of the mobile payment service provider (Stripe). Neither Taksi Rovaniemi Oy nor Taksi Helsinki Oy has access to the customer’s payment card details, and therefore neither party stores card details in their own systems. Registration and ordering a taxi via the application are free of charge.

The price of a taxi ride in the Rovaniemi area is determined according to the Taksi Rovaniemi Oy price list (https://taksirovaniemi.fi/en/fares/). If you use the application in other areas, prices are determined according to the pricing of the local partner. You should understand that the fare estimate shown in the application before the ride is only an estimate, and the actual price is determined by the taximeter. For fixed-price rides, the agreed price is binding. The taximeter starts when the vehicle arrives at the pickup address. For advance bookings, time-based charges begin at the agreed booking time. Fixed-price rides include up to 5 minutes of waiting time without additional charge. If there are other exceptional changes affecting the route or duration of the ride, the price may be adjusted accordingly by mutual agreement between the driver and the customer.

Strong customer authentication is used in the application. This requirement is based on the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2). The purpose of this regulation is to improve the security of card payments and reduce the risk of misuse. In general, payment card details alone will no longer be sufficient for online payments. Additional authentication is required, such as online banking credentials, mobile authentication, a one-time SMS password, or a fingerprint. When you choose to pay using a payment card registered in the Taksi Rovaniemi application, you are required to complete strong authentication.

2. Liability and Accuracy of Information

The functionality of the service depends on you providing accurate and precise information in the application. Taksi Rovaniemi and Taksi Helsinki are not responsible for information transmitted through the service and do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or availability of such information. Taksi Rovaniemi and Taksi Helsinki are not liable for the use of the service or for any damage that may arise in connection with its use.

3. Use of Personal Data and Responsibility

You warrant that the personal data you register in the service is your own, or that you otherwise have the authority to use the data you register (e.g. based on a power of attorney), and that the data is accurate and up to date. Unauthorized use of another person’s personal data may result in a criminal report and statutory criminal and liability for damages.

4. Processing of Personal Data and Consent

Use of the Taksi Rovaniemi application requires that you register your email address and/or mobile phone number. This data is processed in accordance with Taksi Helsinki’s applicable privacy policy (link below). Taksi Helsinki Oy acts as the data controller for the personal data you provide. By submitting your data and accepting Taksi Helsinki Oy’s privacy policy, you consent to Taksi Helsinki processing your data as described in the privacy policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Taksi Helsinki using the contact details provided in the privacy policy. As it is not technically possible for Taksi Helsinki to provide the service without your email address or mobile phone number, the service will cease to function if you withdraw your consent.

In addition to what is stated in Taksi Helsinki’s privacy policy regarding the disclosure of personal data, the following terms also apply to the service: Taksi Helsinki may disclose your data to its partners. The data will only be disclosed for purposes defined in Taksi Helsinki’s privacy policy. More information on how Taksi Helsinki processes your personal data, as well as your rights related to the processing of your data, is available in Taksi Helsinki’s privacy policy.

5. Responsibility for User Credentials and Data Security

You are responsible for any user credentials and other information you may receive from Taksi Rovaniemi or Taksi Helsinki in connection with the service, and you must ensure that such information is not accessed or used by unauthorized persons.

6. Handling of Incorrect Information and Notification Obligation

If you receive notifications or other information in error that are not intended for you, you are obligated to immediately delete the received information and contact Taksi Rovaniemi or Taksi Helsinki customer service. You are not entitled to use or store such information for your own purposes or to forward it to third parties.

7. Restrictions on Use and Misuse

Taksi Rovaniemi and Taksi Helsinki reserve the right to restrict or block your access to the service for security reasons or if there is reason to suspect misuse of the service, for example due to a breach of the terms of use. Use of the Taksi Rovaniemi application for commercial purposes is prohibited, meaning that the user may not charge third parties for orders made through the application.

8. Pricing, Payments and Pre-authorizations

Prices include VAT of 13.5% unless otherwise stated. The total fare consists of a base fare plus distance- and time-based charges.
The taxi fare is charged immediately after the ride has ended. If a payment card registered in the application has been selected as the payment method, a pre-authorization will be made on the card at the time of booking. The pre-authorization amount is:
• in fixed-price bookings, the full price of the ride
• in taximeter-based pricing, EUR 90

If a ride ordered through the application is cancelled and a pre-authorization has already been made, the pre-authorization will be moved to a cancel state and no charge will be made.

9. Changes to the Terms of Use and Validity

Taksi Helsinki reserves the right to make changes or additions to these terms of use with one (1) month’s notice. However, Taksi Helsinki always has the right to modify the terms with immediate effect due to legislation, regulations, decisions by authorities, or for security reasons. If you do not accept the notified changes or additions to the terms, you are obligated to unregister from the service and cease using it.
